In this retreat we dive deep into various forms of seated, walking, standing, reclining, moving and sound meditation. From the Yogic tradition we will examine--and experience--the traditional "limbs" of pratyahara, dharana, dhayana, and samadhi. We will explore how these meditative practices complement and complete asana and pranayama as well as the yamas and niyamas. Mantras, mudras, yantras and chakras will be explored as profound yogic meditation techniques.

In addition, we also will introduce methods from other cultural traditions, including Taoist, Tantric, Buddhist, Qigong, Arican, Kabbalah, Sound Baths, and even African Drumming. (Please bring a hand drum if you have one.) Weather permitting, we will take advantage of Nature and the outdoors as opportunities for meditation.

Yoga teachers taking the workshop will have an opportunity to practice teach meditation in order to bring this skill into their classes. You do not have to be a yoga teacher or even a yoga student to attend. The workshop will be mostly experiential, but there will be some theory and discussion. Please bring a journal.
